Sucrose in Genshin Impact Explained

Sucrose Info Card

She is a playable character in Genshin Impact, but her bio-alchemy expertise is helpful beyond just magic-making. She also serves as a healer thanks to her extensive knowledge of flora and countless recipes for medicinal teas, poultices and salves.

While she always appears calm, she occasionally gets excited about new discoveries in the field of bio-alchemy. In addition to alchemy and healing, she has a strong interest in cooking and baking (in fact she's authored several cookbooks), though she often feels self-conscious about this quirk when in Albedo's presence (who dislikes the smell of food from any source beyond the dining table.)

In addition to alchemy and healing, she has a strong interest in cooking and baking (in fact she's authored several cookbooks), though she often feels self-conscious about this quirk when in Albedo's presence (who dislikes the smell of food from any source beyond the dining table.)

She was originally an assistant for Albedo, her teacher. After the death of their mentor, M., Albedo began to abuse his position as an authority figure and attacked Sucrose because of her feelings towards him. During this time, Gonsola discovered her and took her in while providing training.

It was here that she learned she had a very strong sense of mana throughout her body, being able to easily produce it herself.

Although seemingly cold and emotionless on the outside, she has a soft spot for kids, especially children crying due to hunger or sickness.

It's said that anyone whose loved ones are in need can quickly earn her affections by letting them feed off their mana.

Nature

Sucrose is a young woman who loves to experiment. Labeling every variable as its own result, she skips from one experiment to the next without any real ambition besides her research.

While they may lack in quantity, the results that she has manage to be quirky when the situation calls for it. Being a bit too talkative, Sucrose's voice lacks any real tone, which can make her appear lazy or immature at times.

Still learning about this world and its culture, Sucrose is often naive and innocent in her words and actions, but there is a certain charm in her childlike wonderment.

You would think she'd find some friends among the members of the organization, but most are put-off by the glare of stitches on the side of her face; she's been questioned by many if they indeed are real.

To top it off she shows absolutely no interest in other people's work.

She particularly loves to experiment and learn about the secrets of life. Her curiosity in new discoveries often leads her to accidentally stumble upon phenomena that may be of some use.

Her personality is somewhat quirky as she tends to focus on every detail in order to improve it, regardless if the process may take a long time to complete or not be feasible in terms of actual application.

She is a living, breathing person, and thus has her own personality.

This means that she may be feisty at times, lazy at others and kind for occasions.

She has various hobbies such as researching Alchemy, crafting new tools and items to use in battle, or going out to find rare ingredients for her experimental dishes.

Look

Sucrose wears a blue ruffled corset with frilly hem, white gloves and black tights, thigh-high boots, and long hair with a blue streak. She has very fair skin and amber eyes.

She is often seen alongside Albedo who trains her. A recent novice on missions, she ends up engaged in some of the more dangerous missions in Avant Heim.

Sucrose is the youngest member of the investigation department, and her age of only seventeen makes her way too young to have started as a 'shounen' freelancer.

However, she has already achieved good results for her age; this includes becoming an alchemist at twelve years old, passing tests to become an ability user at thirteen, and her position in the Knights of Favonius at fourteen.

She has alchemical visions that allow her to discern the truth behind any matter at hand. However, she is often nervous and tends to fidget when put in high-pressure situations.

Although she is not a fighter by nature, she has earned her place as a part of the investigation division through both skill and devotion to justice.

Among their ranks is Albedo's assistant, the young alchemist named Sucrose.

With her newfound powers, how will Sucrose use her abilities to help in the investigation? Find out in Genshin Impact.

She is a sophomore attending the academy on scholarship, but when you look at her face she looks like more of an elementary school student. When not in training she generally wears her uniform together with Albedo as they are part of the Knights' investigation department.

Even if her behavior to people like Alph and Tith's complaints to her are harsh, inside she is kind-hearted and will try to comfort them.

She has a younger brother named Rufus who goes to Tabula Capella with her.

She was going to go to meet Infinitum's leader, Albedo. Albedo had sent her a letter explaining that he needed her and wanted her help investigating a disturbance in the region of Favonius.

Meaning of Name

Sucrose is the name for the chief chemical compound that makes up sugar. However, we in the United States tend to use the word sugar to mean sucrose and its related compounds, just as people in Great Britain often use sugar to mean only sucrose..

The word 'sucrose' is derived from the Latin words "succus," which means juice, and "saccharum," which translates to sugar.

The compound was discovered by Henri Braconnot in 1812, but it wasn't until 1857 when sucrose was crystallized, that we knew for sure that it was a solid form of sugar.

At first referred to as "invert sugar," sucrose is composed of 50% glucose and 50% fructose made from cane, beets, and cornstarch.
