For Facebook Feed video ads, Meta lists a 4 GB file-size limit. Regular video posts use a separate publishing flow; check the selected uploader’s file requirements. File size and duration are different limits.

Facebook has gone too far with video. Even if it is not the first social media medium that comes to mind when it comes to video, it is still preferred.

Regular uploads and Feed video ads

Meta’s 2025 video-to-Reels announcement describes a unified publishing flow without fixed Reel length restrictions. For a regular post, check the file requirements in the uploader or scheduling tool you are using.

For paid Facebook Feed video ads, the maximum file size is 4 GB and the permitted duration is 1 second to 241 minutes.

Duration measures running time; GB measures file weight. A short high-bitrate export can be larger than a longer, more compressed video. Check the exported file’s actual size alongside its duration.
