+15 Purple Cartoon Characters Explained

Thanos

Gold armor covers much of the Thanos illustration, but his face and exposed arms remain purple. A furrowed chin and heavy brow complete the face of the Marvel Comics villain.

Tinky Winky

The triangular antenna belongs to Tinky Winky, the purple Teletubby. His red bag hangs beside a soft, rounded costume, with the pale tummy screen taking up most of the front.

Mad Madam Mim

Madam Mim challenges Merlin in The Sword in the Stone. Her messy lavender hair spreads above a pink-and-purple outfit, matching the disorder of her magical duel. Martha Wentworth supplies her voice in the animated film.

Ursula

Ursula’s white hair and lavender face sit above a black dress and curling tentacles. A small gold shell hangs at her neck. Pat Carroll voices the sea witch in Disney’s animated The Little Mermaid.

Twilight Sparkle

The glasses and ponytail belong to Twilight’s human Equestria Girls design. Here, lavender skin, a purple skirt and dark hair carry the palette.

Her pony counterpart in Friendship Is Magic is a student of Princess Celestia. That version has a lavender coat and a mane with pink and purple streaks.

Dizzy Devil

With his tongue out and fur whirling into a spiral, Dizzy Devil looks ready to eat his way through the scene. The purple Tasmanian devil belongs to Tiny Toon Adventures; his little propeller cap stays perched above the commotion.

Barney the Dinosaur

Barney’s broad green belly interrupts an otherwise purple dinosaur suit. Co-created by Sheryl Leach, Barney is pictured in his familiar live-action costume.

Bing Bong

Bing Bong is Riley’s imaginary friend in the Disney/Pixar film Inside Out. His cotton-candy body is mostly pink. The purple is concentrated in his striped cat tail, below a brown jacket and a tiny hat.

Dino

Dino is the Flintstone family’s pet dinosaur. His long purple neck, dark spots and red collar make him a slimmer dinosaur than Barney, with a dog-like enthusiasm for greeting Fred.

Daphne Blake

Daphne wears her purple in the familiar Scooby-Doo outfit:

• A purple dress with lighter trim.
• A matching headband above orange hair.
• A green scarf at the neck.

Beside Velma Dinkley’s orange sweater, Daphne’s outfit gives the two investigators separate color identities.

Waluigi

Long limbs, a pointed moustache and orange shoes stretch Waluigi’s silhouette in every direction. His purple cap and shirt sit above dark overalls. Nintendo’s sports games pair him with Wario, including Mario Tennis.

Frieza

Frieza changes form throughout the DragonBall series. The familiar final form shown here has a white body with glossy purple areas on the head, chest and shoulders.

Ditto

Two dot eyes and a thin mouth are almost all the detail on Ditto’s pale purple body. Its soft, uneven outline suits a Pokémon whose defining ability is transformation.

Share Bear

Share Bear’s lavender fur surrounds a white belly badge. The pictured badge shows a pink milkshake with two straws.

Grape Ape

A green shirt covers only part of Grape Ape’s enormous purple body. A small red cap sits above his green collar.

The Cheshire Cat

In Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, The Cheshire Cat curls pink and purple stripes around a broad grin. The tail repeats those bands above his head. His disappearing act can leave the smile hanging after the rest of the cat has gone.

Count von Count

Count von Count loves counting on Sesame Street. His lavender face, pointed ears and small goatee peek out above a dark cape.
