Their names point firmly to one family.

The other four labels are more revealing. Royal Blue stays direct, but Slate Blue and Medium Slate Blue add a gray-violet qualification. Blue Violet names both sides at once.

That mixed vocabulary is the subject here. The palette records how people classify close colors, not a recipe for blending them.
