Read the rainforest vertically. Sunlit green belongs high in the canopy; deeper greens gather below it, and wet brown bark holds the shaded ground.
Color near eye level is less predictable. A red heliconia bract stays fixed among leaves, but the blue of a morpho wing appears and disappears as the butterfly moves. The palette is built around those different durations.
