A matte object has no special place on the color wheel. Its microscopically uneven surface spreads reflected light, softening highlights that would look sharp on gloss.
Ash Gray, Rosy Brown, Dark Khaki, Dark Sea Green, Light Slate Gray, and Sienna make that quiet effect easy to picture. Their HEX values specify hue and value only; the material must supply the finish.
